Our commitment

Proper Favor should be as easy to use as it is to look at. We want everyone to be able to find a gift, send a request and settle a favor, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use.

The standard we work to

We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, and use that standard for internal review. The site has not yet had a comprehensive independent audit, and we do not claim full conformance. We will update this statement as our assessment and remediation progress.

What we have done

  • Built the site with semantic HTML, real text, visible focus and keyboard navigation, subject to the limitations described below.
  • Written alternative text for every meaningful image, and marked decorative images so screen readers skip them.
  • Designed the whole site to work with motion reduced. A Reduce motion switch, in the menu and the footer, follows your device setting until you change it, and remembers your choice.
  • Given the opening film and moving Collection images pause controls. The opening film has no audio.
  • Designed the request form for keyboard and screen-reader use, with labels, plain-language error messages and an error summary.
  • Avoided accessibility overlay widgets, which often get in the way of the assistive technology people already use.

Known limitations

As of our last internal review, we know of these issues and are working on them:

  • Text over photographs. On a few Collection images, mostly on small screens, some captions and labels fall below the 4.5:1 contrast we aim for.
  • Scroll-driven chapters. The Collection, Ceremony and Tenets move as you scroll. With motion reduced, they no longer animate as you scroll.
  • Some small touch targets. A few footer links may be difficult to select on phones; we are reviewing their size and spacing.
  • Payment pages. Stripe hosts our invoice and payment pages. If you encounter a barrier, your curator will help identify an accessible payment method or coordinate with Stripe. Please do not send full card details by email or text.

If something does not work for you

Please tell us, and we will work with you to provide an accessible way to complete your request.

  • Email: accessibility@properfavor.com
  • Phone, text or secure message: (702) 483-0121

We aim to acknowledge accessibility requests within two business days. If part of the site gets in your way, your curator can help with the request and proposal by email or phone and arrange an accessible payment option.

Technical details

The site relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA. It is designed to work with current versions of the major browsers and screen readers. Without JavaScript, the pages still read in full; the request form needs JavaScript to send, so please write to curator@properfavor.com instead.

We test with keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom up to 400%, small-screen layouts, reduced-motion settings and contrast measurement.

How we assess this site

By self-evaluation, most recently on October 18, 2026.

For anything else, write to curator@properfavor.com.

[ ABOUT THE COLLECTION ]

Proper Favor finds and makes extraordinary gifts for businesses and private clients. The favors in our Collection are representative of the kind of gift we curate, propose and provide; each is built on pieces that can be found or made today. The images illustrate the pieces and concepts described. They may be renderings, made with digital tools, because the pieces are rare, unique, or confidential. Makers, availability and price are confirmed in each proposal.
