Engraved stationery for a managing partner
The ask
We've named a new managing partner, the first woman in the role in our firm's ninety years. She writes a thank-you note by hand to every client. I'd like her to have cards worthy of the habit. Around $3k.
The gift
A metal die engraved by hand with her initials, and a hundred correspondence cards with envelopes printed from it on heavy cotton paper, the letters raised so they can be felt with a fingertip. We agree in writing, before the die is cut, that it comes to her for future reprints. The cards arrive boxed inside the linen box.
Why it's extraordinary
A handwritten note is the rarest habit in a firm. Engraved printing leaves the letters standing up from the page, so every note she sends carries her mark in relief.
The moment
The first card goes out the same week, to the client who has been with the firm longest.
A curator replies within one business day.
