The First Week

PassageThe Long Client

London debenture tennis seats for a client

The ask

Our longest-standing client has been with the firm since 1994 and plays doubles every Saturday. He has yet to see the championships in London. Two good seats, a day in the first week, nothing that looks like a corporate box. Around $8k.

The gift

Two debenture seats on the second show court for one day in the first week of the grass-court championship played in southwest London since 1877, in the front seventeen rows. Debenture seats come with their own entrance, bars, and restaurants, and the run of the outside courts. The mobile tickets follow a few weeks before; a map of the grounds comes ahead of them in the linen box.

Why it's extraordinary

Debenture seats are the only tickets to the championship that may be passed on legitimately, which is how a man who has played doubles for decades sits in the front rows of a show court on grass.

The moment

It gives him a whole day on the grounds, from the first ball on the show court to the last match on the outside courts.

A curator replies within one business day.
