Hand-blown goblets for a wedding couple

The ask

My younger sister gets married in September. She and her fiancé met cooking in the same kitchen and host a long dinner every Sunday. I'd like to give them glasses for that table, something made for them and nobody else. Around $5,000.

The gift

Twelve goblets blown by hand in a small glass studio in southeastern Pennsylvania that works in the historic Venetian manner, each finished with gold leaf. The glass color is made from scratch in the studio for this order, and the set takes around four to five months at the furnace. We wrap each goblet in its own sleeve, and the twelve travel in a fitted case under a card sealed in wax.

Why it's extraordinary

The color is mixed at the studio for this one set, so the twelve goblets match each other and no other glasses anywhere. They are made for a table that is already set every week.

The moment

The goblets go on the table at the first Sunday dinner after the honeymoon, and stay out on the open shelf between dinners.
